Giants Causeway and National Trust

Our third day at Cafre was an interesting one. We did a lot of stuff and it seemed as though we learned a lot about Ireland and its people, while also getting to see some spectacular views.

Our first event was a service project with the other MSU students who are staying here at CAFRE. We went out to some national trust land, in this case some estate land for a long dead Archbishop. The site was huge and had a temple with beachside property. We learned a bit about how American plant species are invasive in Ireland and are difficult to manage.

Our service project was a little disorganized, the steps on the walkway needed replacement and our job was to bring the rocks up to the area. There were a lot of students who were just hanging out. Also it smelled like garlic in the forest, because of the wild ramps that grew there.

After the project we went on a formal tour of the Archbishops house and property.

The temple was gorgeous and is used as a wedding venue. I would do that in a heartbeat, such a beautiful place.

After we had lunch we went over to the Giant ’s Causeway, which was truly incredible.

For those of you that don’t know, led Zeppelin shot there album cover for houses of the holy at Giant’s Causeway which was a joy to see the album art in real life. The entire time I was there I was making Zeppelin puns.

Also we learned yesterday that Cara is the most photogenic person alive, and we hate her for that.
